Overview: This is the “Stop, Drop, and Roll” of bullying, designed to introduce younger classrooms and students to the core Sweethearts & Heroes message.
Perspective is how you see things, and everyone’s viewpoint is unique—that’s okay! Our experiences shape how we see the world, and learning to understand someone else’s perspective helps us grow in empathy.
Bullying can be hard to understand, but we need a shared view of what it is and how it affects others to address it. While bullying doesn’t cause hopelessness, it can make people feel alone or unwanted. Remember, everyone’s perspective is unique!
In the 16th century, “bully” meant “sweetheart” – someone who pushed us to grow and gave us HOPE when we felt hopeless. We all have people like that in our lives, and we all have the power to be someone’s sweetheart and share HOPE.
H.O.P.E. stands for Hold On Possibilities Exist. Like Rick, many feel different and struggle socially, emotionally, or mentally. H.O.P.E. is the light that guides us, but it often takes Sweethearts in our lives to help us find it.
ANYONE can be a Hero! But helping someone who is being mistreated takes practice. You have to Jump into Action within the first 10-seconds and use the ABCs of superpowers!
We must practice Jumping into Action to help those in need and choose to give the H.O.P.E. we have inside us to those who are hopeless!
