Fairy and Impartial (Starfig Investigation Book 4) Kindle Edition
Instead, Twig and Quinn get roped into a new case involving missing orc stones. Yes, those really are a thing. Twig’s dad is on the PR warpath . . . again. Quinn's little brother can't seem to stop pining over their housemate. Someone—or something—seems to be following them. And getting qualitytime alone with his wizard is more difficult than keeping one’s virginity at an incubus party.
To make matters worse, Twig's old enemies start dropping like fairyflies, and they find themselves smack in the middle of an inconvenient murder investigation with a certain red fury as the main suspect. With everyone in Lighthelm convinced of Bill’s guilt—and by association Twig’s—Starfig Investigations is on the case.
Is there no one in the Elder Realm who’s fairy and impartial?

About the author

Mischief, Magic, and Murder . . . That's a Maslow!
If you're looking for comedy, fantasy, or dead bodies in your romances (sometimes all three at once!), I'm your gal. I'm also a. . . gasp!. . . extroverted writer. It seems counterintuitive that as someone who is energized by people, I spend most of my time alone. Yet, that's the case. And I don't mind.
Mostly.
If I get writer's block or start to go a little stir crazy, I head out to a coffee shop, a restaurant, a friend's place--anywhere to fill up my need for human contact. It also helps that I spend a lot of time with the voices in my head. Some of them are really quite opinionated.
I love writing gay romance because I'm a sap for a happy ending, and I believe everyone—regardless of orientation—should be able to find books that have them. And if that romance comes with a dash of mischief, magic, or murder, all the better.
I believe that life is for living, kindness is contagious, and a good book makes the world a better place.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2022I have just binged all 4 books in the Starfig Investigations series and I am so glad I took the chance on this new to me author.
This series is amazing. I can only imagine the scenes, colours and adventures inside this author's head. Their world building is addictive!!
Starfig Investigation series follows human/wizard Quinn Broomsparkle and half fae/half dragon PI, Twig Starfig.
I love the main characters!!
This series follows Quinn and Twig's journey from PI and charge to mated couple had be engaged.
I loved how possessive Twig' dragon was. Twig the human didn't know how to handle these feelings. Over the series, we get to see Twig becoming more in tuned with all sides of himself.
Quinn was not without his insecurity. Previously a sold as bed slave, he didn't think he was good enough for Twig.
I love watching Quinn become comfortable in his skin. Going from thinking he was just a human to gaining his wizard powers once finding out his familiar was a dragon.
Starfig Investigations is a wonderful series if your jam is mischief, magic and mayhem.
I can't wait to read more from this author!!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2021This author’s books are a must for me. Where the Starfig clan goes, trouble, mayhem and shenanigans follow! OMG these books crack me up. Quinn and Twig always seem to find themselves in the middle of an absolute mess, and not of their own making. All Twig wants is time to bond with Quinn and settle into their nutty found family. Unfortunately events seem to be conspiring against them. We have missing orc stones and murders. We have Bill bent on a path of self destructive behavior that hurts those around him. And we have one manipulating pint sized fairy that won’t stop meddling in their affairs. Another great book with lots of hijinks, found family, love, and don’t forget the blood-letting!
And if you like audiobooks, you have to check it out in that format too. Greg Boudreaux narrates it and he does an absolutely amazing job of it. His characterization is spot on!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2021Overall a good book when I'm in the right mood for this kind of read. It's the kind of story that doesn't take itself seriously. I could do with a bit more explanation of world and characters.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2021Such a fun series, full of snark, love, mystery and excitement! Around every corner there is a new twist and they are so much fun to read.
This time Twig and Quinn have old and new enemies rise up, along with new friends to help save the day. I don’t want to say too much, as I hate giving stuff away in a review so I’ll say this. Twig and Quinn are still figuring out this relationship thing, with each other and also with their family and friends. Watching them overcome their internal ‘demons’ (ha) and learn to forgive each other is exactly what I needed.
This is book 4 in the series and they should be read in order.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2024I love following along with this whole cast of characters, from the ones in the previous books to new friends! I loved the action and mystery with a balance of character development. The last book wasn’t my favorite compared to the first 2 so I was a little hesitant going into this one but liked it so much! Really hoping there will be more in this series soon.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2021The world building in this series is amazing. It just dresses you in. All the characters are so unique. I love, love, love Dandy. He's so adorable. Even though the book is written in only one pov, it doesn't feel like it. It's like you can understand how all the other characters think and feel. So looking forward to reading more in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2022I Love the story. The characters are wonderful, especially Twig and Quinn. Their gay love story is great. Their friends are a hodgepodge of of different beings, just like a gay group of friends. I look forward to more Starfig Investigations stories!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 9, 2021This series is truly unique and one of the things that really stands out is that it has its own creative, hilarious slang words. Loved the addition of Dandy. These books are so much fun!
