About

The “Stay Awake! Stay Alive!” Challenge is a fun visual competition to create a Public Service Announcement (PSA) focused on preventing Drowsy Driving impairment in a way that resonates with young and adult drivers alike. The Challenge is sponsored annually around Daylight Savings Time by New York SADD and the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee of New York.

The #Challenge

Create a PSA raising awareness on the topic of drowsy driving. This can be made from the perspective of the drowsy driver, passengers, another driver, or how to recognize a drowsy driver on the road. The video should encourage folks to make safe choices before getting in the car and while on the road, and/or about being a proactive passenger. The video should be exactly twenty-five (:25) seconds in length and must meet the Entry Criteria listed in the full Rules & Terms.

Eligibility

The “Stay Awake! Stay Alive!” Challenge is open to ALL students at the following colleges & universities:
SUNY: Adirondack (NEW!), Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo. Cortland, Farmingdale, Jefferson (NEW!), Monroe, Nassau, Oneonta, Orange, Stony Brook, Suffolk, Ulster, Westchester

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

SADD, and the NYS Partnership Against Drowsy Driving, are dedicated to promoting and celebrating the vast diversity of the people that we serve. We strive for equality in prevention education, both on and off the roads, to increase safety throughout the State.  We encourage folks to share their authentic and unique experiences to address these issues from a community-centered space.  We lift up our community members so they are seen, heard, and trusted.  We support you to help drive change.
