Learn why employee benefits are important to both employers and employees and how they evolved into the benefits packages available today. Participants of this course will also learn about the employee benefits required by law, as opposed to those employers offer voluntarily.

This course provides information regarding the differences between the fee-for-service and managed care approaches to providing health care plans, as well as tax-advantaged consumer-driven health plans and three insurance funding options.

Learn about the federal laws that impact health insurance plans offered as employee benefits. Because of their particular importance to employers, it is critical that insurance and risk professionals understand the employer obligations involved. This course explains common exclusions that apply to health policies and introduces to the quoting process employers/carriers use for purchasing and quoting group health insurance and other employee benefits. As an employee benefits advisor who understands this process, you will be viewed as a resource to both the employer and the carrier.
