This year's Pavilion focuses on achieving energy security and economic prosperity through innovation, policy and global cooperation. Emphasizing the importance of science-driven approaches, our aim is to facilitate solution-oriented dialogues between sectors to enhance Europe’s competitiveness, build a stronger economy, and support a future-proof society.The 61st Munich Security Conference is occurring at a time of economic disruption, major democratic elections and violent conflicts that are affecting the way we negotiate, cooperate and innovate. Despite the turbulent times we live in, there are ways to break new ground and turn these challenges into opportunities.We are organizing a program of panels, keynotes and discussions that will focus on “Empowering Collaboration for Energy Security and Economic Prosperity."

KATIE GALLUSGeographer, and International ModeratorKatie Gallus is a geographer, freelance journalist, and moderator passionate about future-oriented topics and people dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to her work as a freelance journalist for media outlets such as Deutsche Welle, ZDF, HR, and SWR, she has worked for the United Nations in New York City, conducted research in the Georgian Caucasus, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, and Brazil; lived in central Cameroon near cocoa fields, worked as a filmmaker in Sierra Leone, and independently travelled to Iraq, Eritrea, and Ethiopia for research purposes. Katie Gallus works in English, German, and French on digital ideas, globalization, international development cooperation, and human-environmental relationships. She is a trained lifeguard and mediator for crisis regions and serves as an honorary ambassador for Deswos e.V. and the educational initiative German Dream.
DOMINIK WICHMANNCo-Founder, and CCO of Looping GroupDominik Wichmann attended the Berlin School of Journalism and studied political science, philosophy and American cultural history in Munich, Erfurt and Harvard. After eight months as an editor at the “Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin”, he became its editor-in-chief in 2000. At the same time, he completed his doctorate in Erfurt in 2006. In 2011, Wichmann joined “stern” as deputy editor and was promoted to the editor-in-chief at the beginning of 2013, which he led alone from the middle of the same year. In 2015, he became not only editor-in-chief but also co-managing director of the conference and innovation platform Digital Life Design from Burda. In 2017, he co-founded the content agency Looping Group, which he still leads today.

The Munich Security Conference (MSC) is the world's leading forum for debating international security policy. The 61st edition of the MSC (February 14–16, 2025) will once again bring together high-level decision-makers and experts from around the world to discuss the most pressing security issues. The MSC embraces a comprehensive definition of security, which encompasses not only traditional national or military security, but also takes into account – among others – the economic, environmental and human dimensions of security.

General Information

The BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt Pavilion at MSC 2025 focuses on achieving energy security and economic prosperity through innovation, policy, and global cooperation. Emphasizing the importance of science-driven approaches, the BMW Foundation believes that the energy transition can serve as a catalyst for economic opportunity, sustainability, and democratic resilience. We aim to facilitate solution-oriented dialogues between business, policy, science, and civil society to enhance Europe’s competitiveness in the energy and technology sectors, build a strong economy, and support a future-proof society.
The BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt Pavilion will be held from February 13 to 15, 2025, in Munich at Lenbachplatz 7. It is within walking distance of MSC’s main venue, Hotel Bayerischer Hof.
The BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt Pavilion will provide a stage to strengthen public discussion, enrich thinking, and inspire new thought leadership on energy security and economic prosperity.
 
By uniting key stakeholders from business, science, policy, government, and civil society, we will tackle urgent energy security issues, fostering innovation, networking, and collaboration in a safe and trustful environment.
The BMW Foundation Pavilion is by invitation only and free of charge. Spots are limited. Please register soon if you have not already done so via the link in your personal invitation mail. The invitation is non-transferable and for you only. 
Parts of the BMW Foundation Pavilion program will be live-streamed with options for virtual participation. More information will be available soon.

Logistics

Munich International Airport (MUC)Munich International Airport (MUC) is Munich’s airport. When you arrive, you will find the railway station directly below Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The S1 and S8 S-Bahn lines connect the airport to the Munich city center at 10-minute intervals. The S1 travels via the west of the city and the S8 via the east. The trip to the main railway station at the city center takes approx. 40 minutes.Munich Central Station (Munich Hauptbahnhof)  The event venue (Lenbachplatz 7) is approximately 10 minutes on foot from Munich Hauptbahnhof (Central Station).

Yes, catering will be provided at the BMW Foundation Pavilion. The catering will offer mainly seasonal products. In line with our sustainability efforts, all meals will be vegetarian and/or vegan.
