This consultation is for people who live in Inverallochy and Cairnbulg and runs from 19 February to 16 June 2025.
NHS Grampian is in consultation with Invercairn Pharmacy (proposed name) regarding their proposed application for a new pharmacy to open in Inverallochy, Aberdeenshire.
The consultation is to help NHS Grampian to decide whether granting of the application would be necessary or desirable in order to secure adequate provision of pharmacy services in the communities of Inverallochy and Cairnbulg which they will serve in their entirety.
Invercairn Pharmacy propose to provide the following services from their pharmacy should the application be granted:
NHS SERVICES:
Dispensing of NHS/private prescriptions
Chronic Medication Service
Pharmacy first and Pharmacy First plus - Diagnosis, Examination and Treatment of common clinical conditions such as sore throats, ear infections and skin infections
Public Health Service including smoking cessation, sexual health (EHC, free condoms and health promotion campaigns)
Pharmaceutical advice
Sale or supply of medicines as appropriate
Unscheduled Care (urgent provision of prescription medication out of hours)
Stoma Service (appliances that deal with body waste)
Substance Misuse
Palliative Care (if required*)
Provision of compliance aids – Dosette boxes / Blister packs
Gluten-free food service
MCR
Home carer medicines management
Free text messaging service
PRIVATE SERVICES:
FREE prescription collection & delivery from all local GP surgeries.
24/7 Collection point
Vitamin B12 injections where suitable
Ear wax removal
Flu vaccines
Invercairn Pharmacy propose to provide these services at the following times:
Monday to Friday: 9am – 6pm
Saturday: 9am – 5pm
Sunday: Closed
NHS Grampian and Invercairn Pharmacy are undertaking a joint public consultation. This consultation has two main purposes:
1. to assess the current provision of pharmaceutical services in the proposed area of Inverallochy and Cairnbulg and whether it is adequate; and
2. to establish the level of support from the residents in the proposed areas of Inverallochy and Cairnbulg for the application
