As previously announced, today we released two new content blocks to our Email Builder, following their release in the Page Builder two weeks ago. The Icons block is already enabled and visible in your application, while the Menu block needs to be enabled manually from your developer portal account. Using the new blocks With Icons, your customers will create new layouts mixing icons and images with text, without the constrictions of row structures. A few examples include bullet points, ratings, logos, or property amenities and services, like in the example below. The Menu block is a handy feature to let your customers create text-based navigation interfaces, while mantaining a fantastic experience when rendered on mobile devices. We've put together some resources to get you started on the new blocks:
Managing the visibility of Icons and Menu We believe the Icons block is a key improvement for designing with BEE, so we decided to ship it as enabled by default in BEE Plugin applications - you don't need to do anything, it's already live. If you ever need to turn it off, you can do so from the Application configuration in your Developer Portal. The Menu block instead is shipped as disabled by default, as we usually do when we release new features. Changes to BEE AWS S3 image storage We want to let you know that, starting August 1, 2020, additional fees may apply if you are using BEE's AWS S3 Bucket for storing images and you are generating a very large amount of data traffic. In short:
Although the likelihood of incurring any image hosting fees is very low (97% of customers will be unaffected as of today), if you want to rule it out completely, you can do so by switching to using your own S3 bucket or connecting your file storage. Feedback As always, if you have any questions or feedback on the above, just get in touch with us.
