    Wow this book is not what I was expecting when reading about a forbidden love and man I so enjoyed it.
    Lance is a soldier for the Cavalieri, a group of 12 assassins bound by honour and loyalty to one man Arthur kind of like tales of the round table but darker. He is formidable, brutal in his work but definitely not a saint.
    Guiliana is Arthur’s daughter and as such is off limits but that doesn’t stop them so when they are found out she is sent away and Lance tries to find her and does so while he is on a job and then the mind games get interesting.

    I am liking the whole concept behind the series of books that follow a time in history. The Cavalieri Della Morte series is based on King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and each book, with a new Knight is written by a different author. For me this concept is brilliant.

    Beautifully Brutal is the first instalment and we meet the man behind the Cavaliers, Arthur Calthrope, a ruthless puppeteer who rules with an iron fist.

    Lance Knight is first off the block and he is a ruthless killer who is not only Arthur’s right hand man but he also has his eye on the forbidden fruit that is Arthur’s daughter, Guiliana. Lance has to jump through hoops and play the games in which Arthur commands and in doing so we get to see the cold hearted killer that is Lance Knight.

    While I enjoyed the overall story, for me it just lacked a bit of grit. While there is just the right amount of blood, gore and torture I felt that some parts of the story were rushed and I expected more depth in just what was going down. I also felt that some parts of the story were a bit contradicive and had me shaking my head in trying to keep up. Guiliana seemed to be a bit wishy washy when it came to how she felt about her father. She tried to be a strong female but for me I just couldn’t see it.

    I am looking forward to see just what the next instalment holds

    Lots of action and plenty of dark themes to enjoy. I struggled to warm up to the MCs at first, not because of the violence, but because the H was the sort to have sex with other women even though he loved the h, and she was the sort to be attracted to a different guy and consider staying with him (also despite being in love with the H). Once the MCs were reunited the story improved.

    I also think there were a few too many 'coincidences' to be really plausible with the story. I had to suspend my desire to scoff at times at the author wanting the reader to believe that a persons random choices (like directions travelled) were part of a master plan.

    Despite all that, the H and h were a good match and I liked how the h was able to love and accept the H for who he was, beastly side included.

    Giuliana is the daughter of the head of Cavalieri Della Monte. A young woman raised by her father, who falls for Lance. He is a dark, dangerous assassin working for Giuliana’s father, a man who raised Lance as his own son.

    This is a phenomenal read. It’s dark gripping book and sexy AF. It sets the tone for the Cavalieri Della Monte Series. Arthur, Giuliana’s father is certainly a badass, twisted character who thrives on the fear factor.

    I cannot recommend this book highly enough. This is a cracking good book created by Ms René. 5 mega whopping stars.

    Beautifully Brutal, is the first book in this series and it starts off with a punch. This story is amazing! It has everything you'll except from a Dani René novel. She knows how to put her foot in a story and deliver with an extraordinary tale.

    Cavalieri Della Morte is a group of 12 men, who are trained assassin's. They are the best at what they do, but sometimes life gets in the way of it.

    Beautifully Brutal is about Lance and Giuliana, and how they have to overcome the ruthless rules of Arthur, the leader of the assassins and her father. When they finally fill like they might get a chance, Arthur with his manipulations and games are there to put a stop to everything. This a great start to this series and can't wait to read more.

    I'm finally starting this series. If the other books are anything like this one I will be very happy. I liked the plot and the pace of the story, it flowed well and kept me glued to the pages.

    Forbidden lovers Lance and Giuliana have a fight on their hands to be be together. He is an Assasin for Tabella Della Morte and she is the daughter of the Boss. 

    I absolutely loved Lance he's dark and deadly and will do anything for the girl he loves. Even if it means going against the Cavalieri. 

    I'm fascinated with the dangerous brutal world of Cavalieri Della Morte and I can't wait to read the rest of the series. Some of these characters have me intrigued already.
