Why use flashcards
How to do it
Flashcard learning for kids is very popular as a playful approach to introduce them to concepts, new words, and things as it allows kids to make associations.

When they are shown images with words, they create links in their brains which help them identify that object every time they see it.

Kids generally have a very short span of attention as they are too fast and smart to learn about everything: they are able to learn within minutes and very eager towards getting more information.

Hence by rapidly displaying flashcards in front of them, it not only capture their attention, and also triggers the brain plus exercises the memorization skills.
Repeating words to kids so they can mimic them is already the most natural form of early teaching; adding a pictorial clue offers great visual stimulation in addition to auditory learning.

When settling down the young ones, flip through the cards at a rapid rate while saying out the names.

Unconsciously, they will process the information through the right hemisphere of their brains.

Repeat this daily for a few minutes with the same set of 20 – 30 cards preferably from the same theme; like farm animals, clothes or food.

When your child begins to show restlessness, stop the activity and replace the set of cards with a new theme during their next session.
