DDRT recently took a huge hit to our funds when our only transport van quit on us and a few fur kids require medical care that was unexpectedly costly . The van needs a new motor and transmission as well as a few safety related repairs. Those repairs will cost us $9105. We had a donor graciously donate for the transmission. That leaves DDRT to come up an additional $5605. We must have the van to continue to save doxies and small breed dogs in need. The van is how we get the kids to vet appointments, meet and greets, pick up from transport, etc. After being dealt those cards on top of our normal medical bills we are maxed... Joy who came to us as an abandoned breeder dog, has required $914.52 in costs for lab work, chest x-rays, dental, and mammary mass biopsy. She still requires more care which includes a spay and mammary mass removal. Lottie was not acting right today, so Jamie took her to the vet to be seen. By this evening with numerous test done, her bill was at $1021.20 and they still had no idea why she was so lethargic and sickly. Jamie took her home for the evening and she unexpectedly passed away in her arms. Frankie has been thru heart worm treatment, and is now waiting to have the mass on his face removed. That will cost roughly $300-400. We have 11 dogs patiently waiting for dentals. Dentals run any where from $250-500 depending on how bad their teeth are. And Finally we have 3 kids preparing to go thru heart-worm treatment which costs approximately $500 a dog. All of these cost don't even take into consideration the normal spay and neuters we do, vaccinations, and wellness exams. If you can find it in your heart and you have the means, please consider donating towards the cause. We need your help more now than ever.
