Dear
Request for review of the Airports National Policy Statement (ANPS)
I write further to letter of 7 January 2021 acknowledging receipt of your
letter of 18 December 2020 to the Secretary of State for Transport, on behalf of your clients
Dale Vince and the Good Law Project Limited, requesting that the Secretary of State
considers whether it is appropriate to review and suspend the Airports National Policy
Statement pursuant to Sections 6 and 11 of the Planning Act 2008.
I note that you acknowledge in your letter that there is a need for the Secretary of State to
have time to digest the Supreme Court judgment and other matters and you requested a
substantive response by 18 January 2021. Unfortunately, I am not yet in a position to be
able to provide such a response. I would like to assure you that Department for Transport
officials are carefully considering the matters set out in your letter and we will write to you
again shortly.
Yours sincerely,
