Imagine a hospital ward round where an X-ray is displayed, but despite the expertise, there's uncertainty about the diagnosis. This highlights a critical healthcare gap - the need for timely, accurate medical imaging interpretation. InstantRad, one of our portfolio companies, is changing this by connecting radiologists to hospitals in even the most remote areas. Their platform, powered by AI developed with NVIDIA, speeds up and improves the accuracy of image interpretation. A key focus for InstantRad Inc is breast cancer detection in African women, where dense breast tissue complicates early diagnosis. They've built the largest mammogram repository for this group, enabling their AI tool to detect cancers that might otherwise be missed. This innovation not only advances healthcare but also supports several UN SDGs: * SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being - By improving diagnostic capabilities, InstantRad directly contributes to better health outcomes globally. * SDG 5: Gender Equality - Focusing on breast cancer in underrepresented groups promotes health equity for women. * SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure - InstantRad's use of AI exemplifies innovation in healthcare infrastructure. * SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities - By serving remote and underserved areas, InstantRad helps bridge the healthcare gap. #Responsible #AI: 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 – 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 & 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Responsible AI: Women & Healthcare Conference 2025, and being named as an AI visionary with many other accomplished women in this space (https://lnkd.in/e7af5Fu2). The chairs - Dame Lesley Regan and Professor Erika Denton - set the tone for the day with a clear mission —rethinking women’s health beyond traditional care pathways and ensuring 𝐀𝐈 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬, 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬. Dame Lesley Regan: 👉 Healthcare must look beyond care pathways to consider how people enter them—focusing on 𝘴𝘺𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘴 rather than just diseases. 👉 Women’s health is 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 about female diseases or reproductive health—it’s about the 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 across all conditions. 👉 Gender bias in diagnosis persists—women’s symptoms are still too often dismissed as anxiety or hysteria. Professor Erika Denton: 🔸 AI is not always the solution—we must be strategic about what we scale. 🔸 Women must be visible role models for other women in AI and leadership. 🔸 Those who understand health must drive AI conversations to avoid bias. 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 🩷 We must move from admiring the problem to 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 it. 🩷 A life-course approach is essential—women’s health needs change across their lifespan, and healthcare must reflect that. 🩷 We must amplify solutions, not problems—𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦. Dame Lesley Regan shared insights from her time at #Davos World Economic Forum Meeting: 👉 Conversations on women’s health were front and centre – lots of interest 👉 A McKinsey & Company analysis found that closing the gender health gap in the UK could save £36 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧—20% 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐍𝐇𝐒 𝐛𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭!!! 𝐀 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 We must promote equity in access, technology, and AI adoption. WOW! Decoding the Future of Women what an event! 🙌 Did you miss it? Don't worry, here are our 𝟱 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀! 👇 🤖 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲: 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝘆𝗽𝗲! AI is essential, and investors will notice its absence in your pitch deck. BUT be thoughtful about its inclusion. Proprietary machine learning that brings rich data trumps a ChatGPT API every time. 🇬🇧 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗞 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 UK consumers aren't used to paying for healthcare due to the NHS. Creating a frugal FemTech market demanding exceptional value. 🦸♀️ 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 = 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 First-time founders fail a LOT, and most women's health founders are first-timers. In your pitch, highlight your ability to build and leverage communities. Your community are your customers. ❌ 𝗩𝗖 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 ✅ 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 Another VC rejection? Don't take it personally. VCs have a quota to fill in a limited time, and healthcare has its risks. Alternate funding can be found in family offices, foundations & government grants. 📈 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 Here are some hot topics investors are talking about: • Gene and cell therapy • IVF optimization • Male fertility and contraceptives • The seven female cancers (from diagnosis to prognosis) • Perimenopause • AI in healthcare We're proud to have been media partners at FemTech Lab's event! A huge congratulations to Karina Vazirova, Katia Lang, Caroline Deliakis, Tatiana Klimanova, and the wider team! 👏 👏 👏 #FemTechLab #FemTech #WomensHealth

“It’s not about equity, it’s about really good science” Great first panel session today at the Women’s health tech stage at #giant2024 talking about how to improve the research gap, education on women’s health and funding in Femtech. Key points: ⭐️ We need to shorten the path to scale. How? Education of investment committees on the opportunity and potential returns for Femtech. Looking at investment/allocation strategy with a gender lens. Backing NHS-targeted products ⭐️ We need to deal with the data/research gap. How? Easy to access disaggregated data. Support from regulatory bodies in their research guidelines (similar to recent changes re niche diseases). Using AI to trawl back and interrogate historical data with a gender lens ⭐️ We need better education about women’s health in schools and in medicine. How? Baseline points to be taught to everyone in schools (with more detail specifically for girls and women). Menopause and other women’s health conditions to be mandatory in med school (currently optional in 50% worldwide 🤯) ⭐️ Femtech innovations need to be accessible and have mass reach. How? Consider cost model for the innovation. View it from the lens of poorer households and what they may need to prioritise I’m now off to read the book Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez as recommended by the panel and hopefully not cry/ fall off my chair in anger… 😂 #femtech #womenshealth Mills & Reeve Charlotte Lewis Steph Caird Gayle Curry

🧠 Get ready to close the gender healthcare gap at Intelligent Health AI with Erasmus MC's Margrietha H. (Greet) Vink. 🧠 Did you know? Women are 33% more likely than men to experience barriers to healthcare access, including delays in receiving. care and lack of access to specialist services. 🧠 And, historically, women have been underrepresented in clinical trials. A 2019 study found that only 22% of participants in cardiovascular clinical trials were women – despite heart disease being the leading cause of death for women. 🧠 But promising, pioneering AI-driven innovations are being used to improve health outcomes for women all over the world – reducing gender disparities in healthcare, and paving the way towards a safer, more representative, more equitable future with high-quality healthcare solutions. Join us in Basel on 11–12 September. Take your chance to stand amongst the AI in healthcare giants and see how we do health. 🎟️ ⇢ https://hubs.li/Q02HY_qb0 🗣️ ⇢ https://hubs.li/Q02HYRFv0 #SaveLivesWithAI #IH24 #IntelligentHealth
