And back with us again is our good friend and collaborator, Anastasia Elfman! For those of us who were bullied in high school, Carrie hits home illustrating how cruel and how much of a nightmare high school can be for those of us who are different and can feel like a bit of a revenge fantasy for the “weird kid”. But what is it about this tale of teenaged angst that has led us to not only still talk about it after nearly 50 years but that has led to 2 remakes and a sequel. We’ll find out today! This dark fantasy/gross out comedy stars Brendan Fraser, Bridgette Fonda, the voice of John Tutoro, and zombie Chris Kattan and when it released in 2001, it failed at the box office and marked the short end to Henry Selick’s live action career.
