In Honor of Suhayb: Building a Mosque and Quranic School

As-salamu alaykum,

Suhayb RahimahuAllah was not just my dear friend but also my co-founder and partner in creating our youth organization, "One Body One Ummah." Together, we shared an unbreakable bond over six years, united by our profound connection to the Quran and our faith.

Suhayb was a remarkable individual, always leading by example. He lived his life in complete accordance with the teachings of the Quran and was devoted to his community and brothers and sisters. His humility and simplicity endeared him to everyone he encountered, making it impossible for anyone to dislike him. Suhayb's manners were a reflection of the Quran itself, and I bear witness to the profound impact he had on our lives.

Our journey of establishing "One Body One Ummah" began with the inspiration we drew from the hadith of the Prophet Pbuh, which described the ummah as one body. We were driven by the belief that if one part of the body suffers, the whole body feels the pain. With this conviction, we started organizing activities and unique challenges to raise funds and support various causes within the community.

Tragically, on the 4th of May 2023, an unfortunate incident put Suhayb in a coma. The details surrounding the event remain deeply painful and hard-hitting. Despite being out of the country at the time, I received a call from Suhayb, blissfully unaware of the impending tragedy. A mere 12 minutes later, I learned that he had been found drowned. The news shattered me, and the reality of the situation was almost too much to bear.

Despite the utmost efforts by medical professionals, Suhayb's condition deteriorated, and the hospital in Dublin recommended removing life support. The family made the difficult decision to transfer him to Libya, where he spent his final moments.

To honor Suhayb's memory and the profound impact he had on our lives and community, I am committed to building a mosque and a Quranic school in his name. This endeavor will ensure that his love for the Quran and the mosque will live on, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

The funds raised will be used to construct the mosque and Quranic school, and the impact of this endeavor will be far-reaching. The mosque will serve as a center of spiritual and communal growth for countless individuals, providing a place of worship, learning, and support. The Quranic school will nurture young minds, fostering a deep connection to the Quran and Islam while imparting essential knowledge and values.
