Requesting a Course Repository

Your Repository (Repo)

This page is where request a repository for the svinfo6250 course.

Your repository will have the slides from class along with your weekly assignments and section projects. Not only will you get these assignments from the repository, this is also how you will submit your work. This may seem complicated, but this mirrors the process of doing web development at many companies.

While at most workplaces many people will collaborate to make changes to the same repo, in this course the collaboration will between myself (the instructor), any TAs, and you. This means I need to create a specific repo for each student and grant permission to you and the TA(s).

Git and Github

Git is the version control software we're using - this will track files and changes to those files over time. Building your skils with git can be valuable in preparing for many programming-related jobs.

Github is a website that offers centralized hosting for git repositories. Competitors to Github exist, and you cna use git without Github, but we will be using both.

You will need to have an account on Github and tell me your Github username to get permissions. Rather than manually collecting github usernames from hundreds of students, I'm trying to use this website to gather that information.

Making the Request

  1. Enter your github username below
