Default How often do you start your bike in winter?

Once you shut down your ride, how often do you run it and for how long? I put stabul in the tank, I think 5 squeezes in a 3 gal tank, and I run it for about 10 mins after charging on a trickel charger for an hour. How often do you guys do this in winter?

The only reason to start a motorcycle in the winter is to drive it long enough to get the moisture out of the inside.

There is no benefit at all for starting it up and then shutting it down 10 minutes later.

If you start it in the winter, you probably wont run it long enough to get it hot enough to dry up any condensation that will form and end up with water in your oil and engine...not good.Best to just use the stabil and leave it.

Never, uless I plan on riding it, which doesn't happen too often here in the great white north.
Starting any internal combustion engine after it has been sitting for more than a couple of weeks is hard on the internals.
I figure why start it more than you need to?
I would rather let it sit for a couple of months and start it in the spring when the riding season begins.
Of course... If we get a real nice day (mid 40's), and I am going to ride, starting it makes riding it much more enjoyable.

When I am going to ride it. With a carb it's best to just run it dry and leave it alone. FI does not matter. Just my opinion.
For the life of me never have figured how adding something that will burn to gas will make it last longer?
