Western United a hub for entertainment in school holidays

Western United school holidays

Young Westies, rejoice! The school holidays are just a few weeks away and that means a load of activities and entertainment with Western United.

The end of Term 1 is well and truly in sight and the holiday period is going to kick off with an absolute bang as Western United hosts Perth Glory in the Isuzu UTE A-League Men on Saturday 5 April.

John Aloisi’s boys in green are flying in the league at the moment with four wins in a row and scoring an incredible 16 goals in that time.

Noah Botic is smashing goals in for fun, young guns Rhys Bozinovski, Matthew Grimaldi and Dylan Leonard are on fire and Ironbark will be rocking to kick off the school holidays.

That’s only just the beginning, with the first week of the break featuring camps at local clubs on almost every single day.

Melton Phoenix will kick things off on Monday 7 April before North Sunshine Eagles and West Point Soccer Club host equivalent camps on Tuesday 8 April and Wednesday 9 April respectively.

All camps are open to boys and girls of all abilities from 6-15 years of age and are the perfect opportunity for a day of fun football activities, meeting new friends and improving confidence and football skills.

Next up on the school holiday agenda is the inaugural Western United Cup Geelong, open for both boy’s and girl’s teams from Under 8’s to Under 12’s and taking place from Friday 11 April until Sunday 13 April.

The tournament will follow on from the success of the Western United Cup in Ballarat, a girls-only competition that Western United has staged for three straight years and amassed 100 participating teams in 2024.

Registrations are still open for another week and spots are filling up for a huge first edition in Geelong, so lock in your teams before it’s too late and be a part of the action.

Kat Smith and the Western United Ninja A-League Women team will then be under the spotlight with a huge clash against Adelaide United on Saturday 12 April.

That will be the final home match of the regular season for the girls in green with the finals race coming to a thrilling end. Western is currently sitting in fourth place and will be eager to secure a third straight finals berth.

Both the women’s match and the men’s match on 5 April will be part of a special Superhero Round as the Club raises funds and awareness for the Good Friday Appeal.
